New Habits, New Thoughts

Studies point to 21 days for something to become a habit. This week, I started what I'm hoping to become habits.

Last Monday, I watched the back-to-back premiere of Flash Forward. And then last Wednesday, I brisk-walked an hour. According to Superman, my walk-mate, I did 2km. Not bad for Day 1. And no achy thighs or legs the next day. Woo-hoo!

The walking thing is an agreement I had with Superman and Shiloh. Every Wednesday and Friday will be walking day. I hope i can sustain it. I need the exercise. But maybe I will suggest a different location. I feel too much like a me-too at BHS.

Flash Forward is a welcome addition to my TV viewing habits, a full one, I might add. The only day that isn't filled is Friday.

Flash Forward started with the whole world blocking out for 2 mins and 17 seconds. And during that period, people caught a glimpse of their life 6 months hence.

Some had ordinary visions. But the key players had interesting ones. The lead, Joseph Fiennes (segue: Gosh! Such soulful eyes! I can get lost in them and may not want to come out!), saw himself in his office trying to solve the mystery of the block out, and the office is under siege.

His wife saw herself with another man, one she hasn't even met. One of his co-workers was having a pre-natal ultrasound, while another didn't see anything.

That got me thinking. Where would I be 6 months from now. I've had 4 days to think about it but I couldn't get a firm visual. A lot can happen in 6 months. Live have been changed by seconds. Yet's 6 months is also short enough to not expect a huge change.

If I had my way though, I want to see myself sitting in a plane in an international flight. There is a smile on my face. A smile of happiness and anticipation. I don't want to speculate about the whys and hows since i can think of several reasons why that may happen to me.

But here's another question. Does this mean that the future is set? Because I'm thinking if that is so, then, if you try to change it, how do you know that what you're doing isn't exactly what brought you to what you saw?

I know, I know. Confusing, right? Perplexing. But think about it.

@luz, i'm actually considering that. aside from you, i have a couple of other friends there whom i'd love to see. Let's see how the finances go within the next 6 months, eh?

@a, as you already know, plans are thwarted this week. But no more. starting next week, i will walk, Superman and Shiloh or no.
